Notice of Annual General Meeting 2020

Annual General Meeting

The Club wishes to notify our members we will conducting our Annual General Meeting via Zoom on Wednesday 14 October at 7.30pm.

The purposed of the AGM is to review the financial statements from the FY2020 and elect the Executive Committee for 2021.

 

2021 Executive Committee Nominations

It is with great excitement that we can also announce that the club has received nominations for all positions on the 2021 Executive Committee and we look forward to putting these nominations to our members at our Virtual Annual General Committee meeting on Wed 14 October.

 

Subject to voting confirmation by the Mazenod OCFC members, Matt Backhouse and I announced a 3 year plan for the Presidency of the end of 2019 and these plans have enabled us to stabilize the committee and recruit more expertise to key roles

We welcome any other nominations for the 2021 Executive Committee.

General Committee roles

The club also operates with a General Committee structure which supports the Executive Committee in key areas aligned with Executive portfolios. These are non-elected roles. Coaching Appointments

The club is very pleased to announce our latest round of coaching appointments for season 2021.

 

As previously announced Peter Banfield is our 2021/2022 Senior Coach and he will be supported by Mark Murray as Senior Assistant.

 

Rounding out the Senior Panel will be Steve Balloch and Brian Winton. Steve provides great continuity for our playing group and is of course a Mazenod Life Member.

Brian has had a long involvement with Peter having played AFL football with both Richmond and Essendon and more recently was a line coach at Williamstown in the VFL. He was also previously senior coach at Cheltenham FC for 5 years. We welcome Brian to the Nodders

 

Martin McMahon will continue as Director of Coaching. Marty’s main focus is development and ensuring the game plan is being implemented and understood in all teams.

 

Paul Deegan and Georgia Anderson have been reappointed as Coaches of our Women’s teams. Both have been central in building the Women’s program and news of their reappointment has been very well received.

 

Damien Sherlock has been appointed the Under 19 Senior coach. He is an experienced coach, father of current players Ethan and Liam and was of course Under 19 Coach when they played in the Division 1 Under 19 Grand Final in 2019. Welcome back Damien.

 

We are currently in the process of finalizing the 2021 Reserves Coaching role. We will also be making announcements about the Club 18 coach and Under 19 reserves coaching role later in the year.

2021 General Committee Applications

The Mazenod OCFC would not be the same without its army of volunteers and dedicated support staff that keep the club up and running. While balancing work, study, family and their personal lives, they find the time to contiually give to the Club. For their service, the Club is eternally grateful. At the same time, the Club is always looking for more volunteers and member of our community to join the 2021 General Committee. 

No matter how big or small your contribution, the Club would not be the same without our general committee members.
